Summary:
This position is responsible for day-to-day product management support for Group Markets products. The goals and results will align with their portfolio manager’s overall segment goals in order to achieve enrollment, revenue and profit performance and business results.
This person will be responsible for working with the key internal teams (including sales, underwriting, actuarial, operations, channel, marketing communications, finance, IT, etc.) to drive the product plan development and execution. This will include, but not be limited to serving as product expert resource to the internal organization, product lifecycle management, managing annual benefit changes and maintaining product compliance in accordance to ACA and other legal requirements.
Accountabilities:
1. Leads the tactical planning, development, implementation and delivery for a product line within a commercial markets segment. Manages the day-to-day execution of key initiatives and product launches.
2. Advances an integrated approach to identification and resolution of market needs in collaboration with Sales, Operations, Customer Service and other functional areas. Helps translate these to opportunities for the product line – re-stages, new offerings, or new niche markets.
3. Drives the executional aspects of product line lifecycle management and is responsible for the successful delivery, including managing product refresh /development process for re-stages, new offerings, and retirement of existing products, to meet the overall needs of the market and achieve the business and financial objectives.
4. Project manages the changes and enhancements for the overall product line portfolio. Including assisting with product filing changes and collaboration with Benefit Development Workgroup (BDW).
5. Monitors and evaluates the product line performance including market share, profitability, growth, customer, operations feedback and competitive insights.
6. Advances strategies that support the overall segment and operational plans.
7. Maintains technical product expertise and serve as product resource and expert to internal organization. Provide day to day product management oversight to operations, pricing, promotion, and sales distribution activities. Responsible for content & support for product training.
8. Maintains and updates product documentation (benefit charts, product spec sheets, business rules, pharmacy options and rules).
9. Works collaboratively with product implementation consultant to interface with operations for new product implementations.
10. Works collaboratively with sales, legal, underwriting and other functional areas to update product benefit changes as part of the annual group renewal bulletin process.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years work experience in healthcare: sales, marketing, sales operations or related field or 8 years of healthcare related work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Excellent product line management skills and supporting project management skills
- Experience managing complex projects involving multiple team members and including task assignment, working with key customers (internal or external), and managing project deliverables.
- Strong project management and product integration / delivery skills.
- Strategic thinking, analytical, innovation, financial and decision making skills.
- Proven ability to communicate and collaborate with multiple audiences.
- Skilled at managing products through stage gate development process.
- Ability to drive deliverables in a complex, often ambiguous, environment.
- Self-directed, ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a timely manner.
- Self- directed to expand industry best practices to extend to BCBSMN.
- Overnight travel is required infrequently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Product management discipline expertise preferred (ex. Pragmatic Marketing)
