Description

Summary:

This position leads and participates in the growth of new enrollment for the consumer markets segment. This position develops and maintains relationships via face to face interaction, telephone, community meetings, and other field based activities in order to promote and maximize the sales of all Blue Cross and ancillary line consumer markets segment products.

Accountabilities:

1. Meets sales and sales development goals as assigned by management.
2. Develop sales strategies to procure sufficient number of referrals and other self generated leads to meet sales targets
3. Delivers presentations to groups/individuals to support, educate or enroll into appropriate BCBSMN plans
4. As available, responsible for answering and following up on incoming sales calls and emails from prospective customers generated by marketing campaigns.
5. Welcomes walk in customers and provides consultative sales and service experience for customers seeking health and ancillary insurance products and information.
6. Identify, develop and maintain contacts/partnerships for community events and targeted community outreach to contribute to the attainment of sales goals.
7. Maximizes the sale of company products through determining suitability, eligibility and need; explains benefits for appropriate coverage, responds to questions, supplies relevant marketing material and assists with the application process.
8. Works collaboratively with internal business partners and leadership to ensure BCBSMN initiatives align with sales goals.
9. Uses lead tracking software to manage prospective enrollee database. Initiates sales calls to individuals who have responded to advertising and direct mail campaigns.

- Work is performed in an office setting

- In-state and out-of-state travel occasionally required

- Required travel between Eagan campus building locations

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, insurance or healthcare or related and 5 years of sales experience, or 9 years of sales experience in lieu of a degree.
- 1 year of conducting member facing sales meetings specific to Medicare or Individual family plans.
- Experienced in self generating leads
- Ability to organize, prioritize, follow-through on sales process steps
- Excellent Presentation skills. Previous/proven success and experience delivering customer/producer communications
- Persuasive oral and written communication skills
- Ability to mentor sales personnel on sales and relationship management skills
- Currently possess or has ability to obtain a Minnesota Life and Health license within 60 days of hire.
- Travel as needed
