Summary: This position is responsible for assisting the Sales Education Manager in assessing learning and performance needs of the Commercial Markets sales and account management teams and to focus on the design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning experiences or interventions. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting learning and development consultations with sales leadership with the goal of driving positive outcomes of the organization’s strategic priorities. The Sales Learning Consultant will accomplish this by developing effective internal sales education (resulting in increased knowledge and enhanced skills at all employee levels) along with external sales education (resulting in greater agent / broker loyalty and performance selling Blue Cross).
Accountabilities:
1. Consult with the segment’s leadership to identify the team’s ongoing learning, development and / or performance needs and determine whether a sales education intervention is needed; when deemed necessary, the incumbent will recommend learning and development solutions with an effective plan and engaging implementation that exceeds both stakeholder and participant expectations.
2. Participate in the ongoing process to design, develop and launch new sales effectiveness programs organized by learner segment and role; as needed, the incumbent will utilize a comprehensive plan, phased curricula, sales coaching, performance checks or certification activity, and will evaluate business impact.
3. Collaborate with internal groups (Sales, Marketing, Product, Strategy, etc.) in developing comprehensive learning and development curricula. The incumbent will routinely partner with Sales Education colleagues to drive efficiencies in the design and development of common / overlapping curricula projects.
4. Design, develop, implement and evaluate learning solutions that are targeted to increase performance of sales and account management teams and produce business results.
5. Continuously focus on curricula development and ensure that project deliverables and timelines are met.
6. Coordinate and oversee the ongoing offering of new courses and curricula; actively facilitate training or identify other internal / external facilitation resources as needed. Identify delivery methodology to meet desired learning or development outcomes (i.e., e-learning, or instructor led online / onsite / blended).
7. Leverage industry trends (including learning and development, sales training, and health care) in building state of the art programs, curricula, tools and consultative support.
8. Participate on special project teams as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field and 3 years of instructional design and development / sales training / sales facilitation or related experience or 7 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated capability in developing compelling sales presentations / collateral / or curricula
- Demonstrated capability facilitating sales education programs / courses or other facilitation
- Influence, negotiation, consulting and problem solving skills
- Knowledge and application of adult learning principles.
- Project management experience
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with learning technologies such as e-learning authoring tools and experience with delivery technologies such as WebEx
