Description

Success will be measured by this individual's ability to put process to insights and expertise already gained as a strong player in the health care industry. Forwarding the conversation on multiple fronts, this team member will become the go-to resource for strategic development of content in partnership with multiple marketing team members and strategists. He or she will "win" when they take the opportunity to lead, while demonstrating the voice of the customer / client, as to ensure the right message at the right time. Additionally, he or she will be a creative force in helping both internal and external stakeholders better envision the message footpath being forged in order to win with all audiences in the future health care landscape.

Summary:

This position will be the driver in the marketing department that produces the written content for all external marketing campaigns and communications, as well as internal employee engagement communications. The Writer will interview subject matter experts within the organization that can be used to create the marketing collateral and thought leadership pieces and develop a planning schedule / calendar across mediums and team members to ensure use of compelling content in a way that engages the end audience (B2B or B2C).

Accountabilities:

1. Develop content strategy for major campaigns that outlines messaging hierarchy and how the organization will best motivate audience groups into action
2. Identify relevant industry issues through research and by attending industry events, and make recommendations for compelling content
3. Plan, research, and write content for a variety of marketing vehicles with a primary emphasis on online, social, publications, and video
4. Plan, research, and write content for long-form marketing materials including white papers and case studies
5. Contribute to the organization’s brand development process by taking the lead on naming architecture and development, taglines, and other duties as needed
6. Contribute to the organization’s web development initiatives by taking the lead on content strategy and development based on findings of usability research and internal insight
7. May manage dotted line responsibilities of team members (ie., team of writing professionals)

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing or other related field and 5 years of combined experience in B2B/B2C marketing writing or 9 years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft office products
- Clear, compelling writing style and excellent editing skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with a variety of styles
- Proven ability to take complex concepts and ideas and create clear, concise, audience appropriate communications
- Proven ability to generate creative ideas that align with brand strategies
- Demonstrated ability to create compelling content for different kinds of interactive media types including websites, email, and other social media
- Experience researching and reporting on relevant industry trends and best practices to identify opportunities for new or improved online content
- Ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously with strong project management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

- Advanced degree.
- Experience in MN markets.
- Relevant health plan experience.
