Description

Summary: This role is located in Itasca, IL.

This position is responsible for driving new group employer and Health Savings Accounts sales by developing and expanding relationships with assigned distribution partners and where appropriate through direct to employer prospecting and RFP responses. Primarily sells through the agent distribution channel by applying best practice sales techniques, relationship management skills and through adherence to standardized sales discipline and reporting systems. Sells spending account administration and HSA banking services. Participates on internal committees/workgroups and industry associations as directed.

Accountabilities:

1. Develop and build relationships with assigned agents, brokers and consultants to drive new employer group sales.

2. Recognize and understand the agencies business model in order to create action plans to increase sales.

3. Generate and respond to qualified RFP’s, seeking a differentiable competitive position beyond price.

4. Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of consumer directed healthcare, spending account administration and HSA banking products and services and effective benefit design, funding, education and communication strategies.

5. Competitively position and persuasively present proposals to agents, brokers, consultants and employers and sustain engagement throughout the sales and decision process to optimize sales results.

6. Continuously develop selling and relationship management skills and overall industry and product knowledge.

7. Effectively transition and oversee sold accounts to client management for implementation.

8. Expected to spend 70% of time developing agent, broker, consultant and employer relationships and cultivating new sales opportunities.

9. Maintain compliance with Client Relationship Management (CRM) reporting requirements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

*
Bachelors degree, preferably in business, marketing or healthcare administration and 5 years of sales experience with agents, broker and consultants with demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding target sales quotas or objectives or 9 years of sales experience in lieu of a degree.

Current state insurance license or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.

*
Strong organization and prioritization skills and discipline to adhere to standard sales practices.

*
Student of the employee benefits and healthcare industry with a strong working knowledge of consumer directed healthcare, benefit plan design, funding, spending account administration and HSA banking.

*
Ability to organize, prioritize and follow-through on sales process steps.

*
Persuasive oral and written communication skills.

*
Analytical, problem identification and resolution skills.

*
Highly motivated with a track record o developing and executing high performing agency sales plans.

*
Overnight travel as required.
