Senior Communications Consultant (for an Affiliate Company) (Job Number:10077)
Description
Summary:
This person provides communication counsel, planning, project management and creative development in support of business and corporate goals. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required to successfully manage multiple projects and integrate efforts with other initiatives throughout the company, while working closely with business partners. Creative development responsibilities may include writing and editing of promotional brochures and materials, member publications, public relations tactics, media releases, articles, videos, events, speeches, Internet and other communications tactics.
Accountabilities:
1. Consults with business partners to develop comprehensive strategic communications plans and project plans in support of business goals and brand objectives.
2. Serves as project manager for assigned communication projects. Identifies barriers and uses problem-solving skills to keep projects on track.
3. Executes communication tactics: Researches, develops, writes and edits materials for internal and external audiences.
4. Manages business partner relationships for assigned projects; serves as a member of integrated communication teams; represents the department on various internal and external committees and workgroups.
5. Evaluates effectiveness of communication strategies and tactics and share results.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferably in the communications, marketing or journalism field and 5 years of related work experience; or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Strong research, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills for working with business partners, vendors and cross-functional teams and for making formal presentations.
- Excellent project and time management skills for juggling many changing priorities and working under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated writing and general public relations skills.
- Demonstrated personal computer skills in the use of a suite of software tools (such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and project management tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medicare and/or Medicaid knowledge
- Creative and technical writing experience
- Experience with desktop publishing software such as Adobe InDesign, Acrobat Professional and Photoshop
