Description

Summary:

This position will primarily support the work of our Key Accounts sales leads and serve as backup for large account sales leads. This position will have responsibility for supporting our effort to participate in private exchanges with consultants and brokers. Works directly with sales executives, prospects and consultants to facilitate the sales process of new complex major and large accounts. Responsible for assessing client market requirements, researching, developing and documenting solutions. Assists in leading the internal cross-functional team to produce a winning proposal and communications materials. Incumbent works with a wide variety and level of internal and external contacts with multiple priorities and tight deadlines. This position assists in the development and analysis of network financial data for prospects, existing accounts and consultants.

What does success look like for this role in 2014?
- Meet and exceed our sales growth goals for 2014 and 1-1-15 (rated, self-funded and CCS)
- Achieve sales growth through newly created private exchange partnerships
- Implement an improved end-to-end proposal process

Accountabilities:

1. Provide external and internal support to sales lead throughout the RFP/proposal process.
2. Fully understand RFP/proposal process and support sales in the coordination of internal resources (Product, underwriting, RFP, network, marketing etc.) for purposes of developing winning solution.

3. Interface with Broker/consultant and prospects as directed by sales lead in order to facilitate data gathering, RFP prep, and overall sales process.
4. Take lead on sales opportunities and presentations as directed by management.

5. Acquire full knowledge of products and services, for purpose of recommending client solutions and overseeing sales related projects.
6. Assist in overseeing the organization of client site visits through internal team preparation, coordinating SME’s, understanding the business objective and continuous communication with sales lead.

7. Develop and document processes and templates to drive efficiency, consistency and quality in sales processes. Including full knowledge of SFDC application
8. Coordinate creation and analysis of network financial information for sales lead as needed, facilitating the client and consultant re-pricing exercises.

9. Support sales lead in execution of broker and consultant strategic plans.
10. Support Key sales lead with client specific strategic plans.

11. Assist sales management team in: successfully achieving annual sales plan, successfully achieving membership and financial targets, and maintaining strong broker/consultant relations.

- Travel to client mtgs, sales conferences, and other sales events
- Required to drive to sales event and assemble booth or table top displays

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in marketing, business, communications or related degree plus 2 years of sales or marketing experience; or 6 years of sales or marketing experience in lieu of a degree.
- Well developed persuasive writing and oral communication skills.
- Self directed and able to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a current State of Minnesota health and life insurance license.
- Financial, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to lead teams of people through complex issues and planning, driving toward a consensus based solution.
- Basic selling skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

- Proficiency with SalesForce.com
